MISSION

STATEMENT

Our mission is to create a team culture where hard work is expected, effort is consistent, and everyone takes pride in doing things the right way. The name “MAYHEM” means something. It represents the ENERGY we bring, the PRESSURE we apply, and the way we COMPETE. We may not always be the biggest, best, or flashiest team on the field but we will always be the hardest working.

MEET
COACH AARON

Our goal as coaches is simple. Help these kids improve while making sure they continue to love the game. That means giving players opportunities to learn and understand the game at a deeper level. We want players to be challenged, learn from their mistakes, and come back better because of them.

Winning matters and we will compete to win. However, winning will never come at the expense of development. Our focus is building a culture where hard work, accountability, discipline, and effort are the standard and create an environment where players are not afraid to make mistakes.

As coaches, we will lead by example, communicate clearly, and create an environment where players can develop confidence while being held to a high standard.

PLAYER
EXPECTATIONS

  • Give 100% Effort - You don't have to be the most talented player on the field but we expect you to give your best effort

  • Be Coachable - Nobody knows everything. The players who improve the most are usually the ones who listen, ask questions, and try to apply what they're being taught. It's okay to make mistakes. It's not okay to keep making the same mistake because you aren't willing to listen and learn.

  • Be On Time & Prepared - Show up ready to go. That means being on time and being mentally ready for practice or games. When one player is late or unprepared, it affects the whole team.

  • Support Your Teammates - Pick your teammates up when they're struggling and celebrate them when they're doing well. A good teammate cares about the success of the team and their teammates

  • Respect the Game - It's a privilege to play this game so play the game the right way. Hustle on and off the field. Wear your uniform correctly. Respect your teammates, coaches, opponents, and umpires. The way you carry yourself says a lot about you and our team.

  • Have a Positive Attitude - Bad games and tough losses are part of the sport. We expect players to handle these things the right way, keep a positive attitude, and move on to the next play.

  • Control What You Can Control - There are things in baseball you can't control. Focus on the things you can control like your effort, attitude, focus, and preparation

  • Take Accountability - Own your actions and your mistakes. Don't make excuses or point fingers. The best players take responsibility, learn from their mistakes, and work to improve.

PARENTS
EXPECTATIONS

  • Let the Coaches Coach - There are going to be things we see and emphasize that may not make sense from the outside. Trust that we're making decisions based on what's best for the player's development and the team. We don't expect you to agree with every decision but we do ask that you allow us to do our jobs without coaching from the stands

  • Be Positive From the Stands - Cheer for our players and celebrate great plays. No negative comments directed at anyone. The energy from the stands matters so please represent Mayhem properly

  • Communicate - If you ever have a question, concern, or issue, please come to us directly. Please make sure concerns are addressed privately, respectfully, and at an appropriate time. Do not talk poorly about our players, coaches, or parents behind our backs, it will make its way back to us

  • Respect Team Decisions - Playing time, positions, batting order, and other game decisions are based on a variety of factors. While every player is important, not every player will have the same role at every point in the season.

  • Represent Mayhem With Class - We ask that all of our players, parents, and families conduct themselves in a way that reflects positively on our team.

  • Trust the Process - There will be ups and downs throughout the season. Some players develop faster than others. Understand that our focus is always on helping players improve over the long term.

  • Remember the Goal - At the end of the day, this is youth baseball. We all want to win but our main focus is helping these kids. There will be mistakes, tough losses, and frustrating moments. Keep things in perspective and help create a positive experience for the kids. It's far more important than any win or loss.
